The following three links are all articles Ryan Holiday has posted that have helped him and others.  I urge you to read all three.  They’re quick to read, and they divulge a lot of valuable information.

Read to Lead: When we read books, we need to get the most out of our time spent reading them.  If we don’t, we run the risk of wasting our precious time.  This is an excellent article on how to do just that. (I also suggest you read How to Read a Book by Mortimer Adler for more useful information.)

Fingerspitzengefuhl for Books:  In this article, Holiday teaches us how to develop a “fingertip feel” for the books we’ve read.  In other words, he teaches us how to remember and use important ideas we get from our reading.  It’s useful to you, because it can help us make decisions/act based on what we’ve read.  Very important.

On the Spartans and the Perfect Paper:  Ryan uses ancient battle tactics to develop a general outline for writing research papers.  It makes your job of writing a paper much easier.  Again, he obviously doesn’t write the paper for you, he only teaches you the outline to make it easier for you to write the paper.  This can free up a lot of your time for other things.
